The Imperial Elements
Many elements dwell on earth;
Fire, water, ice and more.
They fill us with wonder and mirth.
They glut our novels and ancient lore.
Flame, unchained, does as it will
Water calms and bears all life
Thunder reduces epic things to nil
Ice can halt every single strife
Nature is serene, giving, untamed.
Stone; cold, unfeeling, strong.
Wind has the sky as its own claim;
Death, seen as evil, has done no wrong.
These elements divided bring but turmoil,
Each doing what it would without order.
But, together they give life to the soil;
They rule the Earth without a border!
