A Light In A Dark World

I carry an umbrella to protect me from the dark, stormy clouds on my shoulders
The rain often trickles down my windows
I often bury myself in a fake shell when others are close by
An angel appeared from an endless road one day
She gave me a glimpse of the bright sun
An unfamiliar feeling of hope and safety poured into my heart
Her mark has remained on my heart since that very day
She saved me from the silent grave I was buried deep within for countless years
The dark stormy clouds are lightly present
Every day they open up and release a little more rain
With each trickle I clean out the unwanted feelings I once owned
I don’t pretend to be that happy girl anymore
As the sun came out and made my smile a reality
