over the sea the ugly duckling were brought to a foreign pond.
of these different children not many were fond.
their dark feathers among their captors white,
pointed them as the enemy in the fight.
slavery,
went along with bravery.
death,
after death.
the tales were only told in a whispered breath.
their instinct to survive,
through all types of weather,
has led them to thrive.
a little ugly duckling says to mumma
things are now better thanks to Obama
Mummas of all dark feathered ducklings now say,
it was once thought the wrong way
my baby we are not ugly ducklings in foreign ponds,
we are swans
