A Life Is Measured

A life is measured in moments like this,
being in your arms is absolute bliss.
The world around just vanishes
and all my fears banish.
Run to me, pick me up, spin me round,
Then our feet leave the ground.
Up and up we fly,
then you say "there's no limit but the sky!"
I’m so scared for my life;
you say "hold on real tight".
We fly up; we fly down
spin around then touch the ground.
You look at me and smile,
I turn and run for miles.
What have I done?
My heart weighs a tone.
This can’t be real, can’t be true,
my head and my heart argue.
I turn around and you're there,
The look you give me is hard to bear.
"What makes me special, what makes me different?"
You answer, "I’ve known you from an infant!"
I’m shocked, I’m speechless,
This has to be a test.
"I love you!" then you open your arms,
I run into them to feel the calm.
A life is measured in moments like this,
being in your arms is absolute bliss!
