Having finished the Earth,
God took
The leftover scraps of Chaos
And sewed them into
The meagre shapes
Of stern Adam,
Quiet Eve.
With a merry laugh,
God sent them off,
Without a road to follow,
And so they built their own.
They toddled along,
Hand-in-hand,
Searching always
For more leftover Chaos
With which to complete
Their ungainly forms.
