A heartbeat
Small, Fragile
Beating Slowly, Surely
At the same speed
Of the rain tangled in her hair.
Insane in the brain
Insane in the heart
Trying to do what's right
While finely tuning her need for a smile
Of singing to no music, Dancing with no shoes
Without a care in the world
And no cares in her heart
Frustrating Melodies, Memories
Are what keep her up at night
Dreaming of what could happen
And what she should have done
