A house can be a place to call home
Where the children are free to rome.
A house is where your Grandma lives
A house is a place where you give.
A house is where a person sleeps
Where comfort is given when you weep.
A house shelters you from the rain
A savour from pain.
But a house can be lonely
The locks gone rusty without a key
Outside, a scar on a cheek
Inside a faucet leaks.
A thick blanket of dust
The metal long gone rust.
A knocked over chair
The curtains scratched and teared.
A house can be a place to call home
But is also a place where rats can rome.
