Pages turn,
Each word wielding immense power.
Behind the imagination,
Reality hides from the villainous world.
Not everyone is born a princess,
But most spend their life searching for a crown.
Many are locked in towers, but we can’t all wait for prince charming.
Often, dragons don’t breathe fire or terrorise kingdoms.
Instead, they breathe words, and terrorise our minds.
The cruellest of witches don’t ride broomsticks, or live in castles,
Instead, they ride our thoughts,
And inhabit the darkest corners of our souls.
If I were to look further than this,
All I would find would be blank white pages, yet to be written.
Because every author knows, that a character writes their own story,
Page by page.
