A Leap Of Faith

Waiting in the wings,
about to leap on stage,
wearing a smile,
hiding her endless doubt.

Sharp, wondering eyes pierce the ice cold skin,
ripping into thoughts and troubling minds.
Breaking on the inside,
The smile widens,
taking a leap of faith.
Daintily as mist in the night sky,
landing elegantly, on pointed toes.

Slicing through the eerie sound of the orchestra,
tingling surprise and thundering applause,
once judgemental eyes now stare in awe,
a beautiful performance,
weight lifting off heavy shoulders, exuding pride and natural beauty.
