A Homeless Man

A homeless man on the side of the street
said please help, I have nothing to eat
I walked past as usual
He looked very unusual

I don’t know why, but I felt bad
I almost felt as if I was sad
The next day I bought him lunch
Again I walked away

I still felt bad and almost sad all night
This time I knew I would get it right
This time I sat down and talked
It turned out he couldn’t walk

I helped him all that I could
I gave him a place to stay
He reached a point where of all his
troubles were at bay.
