All For Nothing

Years, months, days, seconds,
Thrown out.
All my ideas and thoughts were for nothing.
I thought we were a puzzle, that was complete.
How can he forget all our loving memories.
What did I do to deserve this betrayal?
Who knew simple words could be so powerful.
It’s like he didn’t even care to say it
It’s like the wind changed his mind.
The words haunt me in my sleep,
Dreams turned into nightmares,
The sun can’t even shine.
And to think I trusted him with my life.
He just hit me with the blind side.
He could buy me diamonds
but the shining wouldn’t hide the truth.
