Excellence Award in the 'Word Zone 2016' competition
Awoken by the glowing sun,
Signalling the beginning of the week
I’ve slept in, so I have to run,
My body feels so weak
I enter class 10 minutes late,
Homework not in hand
Ms. Morgan does not negotiate,
Detention, she doth command
At lunch I sit on the bench,
As I let out a deep long moan
My stomach feels so empty,
I left all my food at home
Only four days ‘til the weekend,
Four more days of sorrow
Sorrow which I cannot comprehend,
Sorrow which continues tomorrow
