The Silent Curse

They call me the curse of society.
I spread like a virus, swift but silently.
Dispersing misfortune, I prey on the weak,
No hope to survive, they admit their defeat.
My pitiful victims from youth to elderly,
The life they once knew is now disorderly.
Unstoppable, I am, my destruction runs free,
For I am the devil they call poverty.
