The children ran and ran
As fast as they could,
Away from their brother
Round the sandpit wood.
They called for their mother
Who ran as fast as she could?
She coddled them,
Hugged them,
Everything she could.
A toddler ran and ran
As fast as he could,
Away from the bombing
Round the rubble and wood.
He cried out loud,
He called for his mother.
Dust coddled him,
Hugged him,
Everything it could.
