2017
2nd in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
You gently tap on my window as you rise
in humble glory, clothed in beauty
delicate and calm.
You put your arms, woven of light, around me
as I lie on my bed
covered in pale yellow happiness.
My freckles are sun kissed in the purest of ways,
and I rejoice quietly
in the hope of a new day.
Patient companion, friend to my heart,
dappling the floors of the forests and woods alike,
making today the perfect day:
a fresh beginning.
Rising in the east, setting in the west, you, my faithful friend,
bring a regular and indescribable beauty into my life.
Sunshine.
