A hard lesson

On a dark, stormy night,
Near a creek so clean,
Lived a boy called Polluter,
Who was really mean.

He threw rubbish in the creek,
Every single day,
No matter what it was,
He threw it in anyway.

He threw things in
For the rest of his life,
Soon the creek was so polluted,
It put the whole town in strife.

When there was nothing there,
And people started to die,
Polluter, the one who started it all,
Could do nothing but cry.
