A hug

We used to laugh and sing and play,
We would lay togerther at the end of the day,
I would dress you up and show you off,
You would lick my face if i had a cough,
Then a man came and took you away,
And said no more could we play all day,
You accidently bit a man,
They took you to the pound,
We visited you everyday,
In a few weeks you'd be put down,
You can't come home they all did say,
This was now some years ago,
I miss you lots and lots,
And now what i really want,
Is a hug from my puppy dog!
