A Long Time

How long has it been?
Lost count three months ago
The heat of it bearing down on me
the glass of water
has nothing but a trickle left at the bottom
looking out the window
the last of the green vegetation went
more than a year ago
checking the radio
No one is there
the pain of drying out
the agony of everything shrivelling
Walking into the distance
The skin of my shell
is red from the sun
How long have I been left like this
