A Hero For Now

The sky is always grey.
How long has it been this way?
Buildings crash and fall.
You think it'd be impossible,
They’re so tall.
Planes fly overhead.
You hear the sounds of sirens.
Mother and child hide under their bed.
You’d be scared too at the sound of men firing.
They’d give anything for it to be quiet like the owl.
They know the end is coming,
But all they need is a hero for now.
