A Life Disregarded

I have been through many pockets and passed through many hands,
I’ve had my time, it’s gone, yes, I understand.
I lay here unnoticed.
My face is wearing away and my initials almost gone,
Life is but a game of Chess and I am but a pawn.
I have begun to rust.
I have heard secret, wish, story and curse,
I have smelt deceit, hatred, power and worse.
I grasp your emotion.
I have been discarded, lost, found and begged for,
After my life of plenty I shall exist no more.
I am a coin.
