Since You've Been Gone

My breathing has quickened
Since you’ve been gone
My posture has stiffened
You know that you’ve won
Whenever you smile
You look at me
I hold your gaze for a while
And you smirk cause’ you see
You see that I am
Not the same without you
You were like my fam’
What on earth did I do?
When we drifted apart
I was overcome by loss
Then you squeezed my heart
And acted like the ‘boss’
I thought things would turn out right
And go back to what it was
I was wrong – there was no light
On the road of joy for us…
