The midnight sky illuminated,
The gnarled trees entwined,
The soft waves lapping on the shore,
Like Mother Nature's own personal shrine.
Interrupted night,
Breaking dawn,
The beautiful gift of light,
The expression of dark as he returns to the abyss horrified, upset, torn.
Eyelids flutter open,
Day is a surprise,
Like a jack in the box,
That always satisfies.
