Umbrella
When it’s wet and windy she is pulled out of her corner
Sprung out in the wind her dust blows off
The air rushes around her battered handle
Heavy raindrops plop onto her nylon head
Its painful as she is turned inside-out by the strong current of air
Rusty hinges screech as she’s pulled from her awkward position
She feels a rush of relief go through her metal frame
When the day is done and the water is shaken off
Back in her corner to wait for the next day of work.
