Daddy Will Come Home
Be brave young one, please don’t cry,
Let me tell you a story as the days slip by
A story bout your father brave and true
Who’ll come home a hero to both me and you.
Fighting for his life daddy will be,
But he’ll fight with courage and come home to thee.
Now I know I’ve said too much
I know you long for his tender touch.
The touch of his lips upon your head
As he says goodnight and puts you to bed,
Tells you a story before you sleep,
It’s ok to be sad I too will weep.
You can cry, but please be strong
Keep on hoping cos it won’t be long,
Till the day the war does end
And home from the trenches, daddy they send.
