I am a child soldier,
My gun is taller than me,
The gun that grasped my eyesight,
The gun that hated me,
I have no eyes to see with,
I have no eyes to weep with,
No eyes to enjoy and relish,
The wonderous power of Mother Nature,
But yet, here I lie,
In the darkness of the depths of despair,
With nothing, nothing but hope,
Of ever escaping,
I am a child soldier,
There is a hole in my head,
A hole where my eye was there,
A hole that was never there,
I have no eyes to weep with,
I have no eyes to see with,
No eyes to see,
What the dark, loathsome rifle,
Once did to me.
