I am the social outcast
Who killed the mother and son
Who is to take the blame
The shooter or the gun?

I am the soldier who
Thought military life as fun
The battles now have traumatised me
Has any side really won?

I am the starving refugee
Asking for money on the street
Does the world see my pain
With begging bowl at my feet.

I am the budding flower
That shows that even though
For every tragedy there is
Beauty and hope shall always grow.
