I wish for a brighter day ahead,
When the guns are still.
When the battle cries of men fall silent,
No more lust to kill.
They cannot wash away the stench,
Of blood upon their hands.
But these simple men were just fulfilling,
Very wrong demands.
They are told they fight for freedom,
For freedom they fight and die.
For the sake of this so called peace,
More children have to cry.
The title of “war hero”,
I’ve never understood.
Can a man who hurts another,
Ever truly be that good?
We are told we must conform,
Like animals to their herder.
But I cannot salute to our flag,
For I cannot salute to murder.
