Finalist in the 'Something With Bite 2010' competition
Haiti children sad and alone
The reason for this is still unknown
What good can come out of all this death?
I ask this question as I hold my breath
Dozens of toddlers sit on the wall
Tyring hard to make sense of it all
They think it’s a dream so they start to weep
They have no homes and nowhere to sleep
They remember the earthquake, the terrible roar
It rocked the whole village and crumbled the floor
The dirt and the dust was swirling round
Parents were missing they could not be found
The world is helping, it is giving us hope
Sending food and medicine so that we can cope
It will not be the same but we have to keep going
How will it end we will have no way of knowing
Keep thinking of us!
