Dead, the most dreaded word in war.
Carnage, what the war made.
Suffering, what the world is feeling.
Hope, that we will survive the final push.
Despair, for the fact we will never survive.
Anguish, the scars of others and us.
Reaching, reaching for arms.
Preparing, for the final battle.
Exiting, our trenches.
Running, to our deaths.
Friends, falling to their death.
Me, collapsing.
Muttering, Why?
Blood, escaping.
Dead, me.
