Years ago I moved from home
Where stood friends I think I know
But now are lost
Their names unknown, and faces un-shown
By God I wish their names had stayed
As they dropped from dream and flew away
Leaving silence and fear
For me, who dreams faceless friends
Can you hear me cry out? A shell remains
He smiles; He talks; He breathes through day
By night I scream and choke down dismay
For those names I lost in life’s foray
By God I wish their names had stayed
As they dropped from dream and flew away
Leaving silence and dismay
For me, who dreams faceless friends
