Daylight Waits

Thousands of candles randomly placed
on a big blue velvet blanket,
with scented aromas you wish you could taste.
Candles flicker in the cool sea breeze,
but then stand tall and steady with ease.
A lullaby of light, a peaceful melody,
a soothing guide right through the night.
Small suns can be seen from the ground,
through the daylight they were lost,
but now they are found.
At night they appear,
breaking through the days grasp
you can only see, not touch nor hear.
As light emerges and the beaty fades
we must wait, just one more day.
