Talking Alloys
By Lewis McNamara
My Name is Ryan Dayley, I’m fifteen and I live in Toronto. My life is as normal as anyone else’s but I have a dream, a dream to own one of the most successful car companies in the world, Ferrari. But for now I’m stuck with four hundred and sixty-two boys writing essays that you need wheel-barrows to bring in there are so many. Another way to pass time is destroying the lab with the crazy experiments Mr Bobley makes us do. Yes, I’m in high school.
It’s a pity really because all I can think about are cars, but the all maths teacher, Mrs Von Hannusburg lets us think about is the square root of twelve. It’s annoying because I have to wait another fifteen years before my dream comes true, or do I?
Luckily, I got John Davies as my lab partner. He’s the smartest kid in our class. So while I sit and think about my dream, he pleases Mr Bobley with frothing green slime. As I sat there thinking I had a brainwave! Maybe I could pretend to be a rich thirty year old on the computer. But how would I get the owners of Ferrari to listen to me? Then it came to me, a businessman’s chat room! All I had to do was make one and get all the car company owners to join.
After about three months of computer work I had finished. It was brilliant. The site is based at Central Park in New York; the avatars of the owners would be their finest cars they had made. The owners would drive around and talk to other owners and share ideas.
There was one problem, Ferrari didn’t join, but I’m still happy, very happy. I’m now the owner of one of the most successful car chat rooms in the world; Talking Alloys.
I’m living the dream.
