Ode To The Bored At Hospital

When you are bored in hospital, there are numerous things you can do.
Stare outside the window or re-tie the laces on your shoe.
Pick off the petals on your flowers, asking whom loves you.
But do not try and eat them: that's a stupid thing to do.
Yes, I do admit, that this is first-hand advice.
Just like how you shouldn't try to tame your dog's headlice.
And do not press that call button every five minutes!
Those nurses look real nice, but geez they have their limits...
So maybe even when you're bored, you should try to just sit still.
And for heaven's sake, don't regurgitate that pill...
