2nd in the 'Something With Bite 2010' competition
Streaming light filled everywhere,
Then land and sea and pure sweet air…
Landscapes green with grass-like hair,
And tinted flowers strewn here and there…
Bird songs filled the air with cheerfulness,
There was no sign of fearfulness…
He made the creatures so benign,
And then formed man of his own kind…
When it all lay at his feet,
It seemed creation was complete…
But then he reached down below,
Into the dust his fingers go…
There was still one piece of work;
He didn’t form man by a word….
Touched the clay; with eyes so dim,
His fingers gently sculpted him…
