Finalist in the 'Something With Bite 2010' competition
Though the winters, so bitter and bare, the winter moon gives life to thou
The gloom of the clouds shadow the shining light of a bitten moon,
These nights bring thou memoirs of a thawed dé ja vu
Thy eyes so chilling, so cold, cradling shards off frosted tears
The sun withers under thou malevolent gaze,
Oh, haunting paragon,
Thy hair, molten ash, tremors with the wind, cascading across thy back,
Alluring shattered snowflakes in a winter promenade
They dress, weaved with the immutable eternity,
Laced through strands of mendacious lust.
A champion lay at thy feet, thou treat him with dubious heed
A creature such as thee has no credence for love,
Nor will thou ever flounder within it.
Thou cynic art not one to be deceived so simply
For no one escapes thy winter embrace,
Not when thou hath mounted thy winter throne.
