Tainted wings of angels,
Battles lost and burned,
Soldiers dying in the trenches,
Heartless tables turned,
Souls that strive for reason,
The smouldering of the flame,
Minds who haunt the gravestone,
Hearts that heed no name,
The life we live is spoiled,
With the demise of greed and lust,
The world we walk is tatters,
Our haven turned to dust,
But beyond this shattered wasteland,
We are searching for the road,
The path which we all have glimpsed,
The passage we once strode,
So break the mask of treachery,
And return with a heart that's true,
So we can hope to glimpse again,
The haven we all once knew.
