Dancing demons
With flailing arms of fire.
Fervent in their pursuit
To engulf, consume, devour.

Aided by a violent wind
Ever-menacing and merciless.
Unleashing its rage through whips and blows
Increasing in its persistence.

In frenzied fury
The raging inferno tears a path.
A thick pillar of smoke
Billows from its restless tongues.

Remaining, a land exhausted
Ashes and blackened trees.
And an unbroken stillness
The dead soul of the bush.
