Back in time a black man couldn't walk the streets without being cursed
And laughed at by the men in white
Back in time the black society was driven into poverty and despair
While the white society laughed
And didn't care
Back in time a black man would commit a crime to survive
While the white man would commit a crime for greed just to kill time
Forward in time I hope the white can make up their mind
And treat the black like one of their own kind
