An angel resides above on cloud nine,
In an idyllic world, it’s simply divine,
At all the others, she looks down,
Like clueless dreamers on the ground.
They all aspire to reach the sky,
Yet the angel knows they’ll never fly.
She smiles proudly, not knowing today,
Everyone spreads their wings some day.
Several summers slowly slip by,
Even ugly ducklings have learnt to fly.
Far above this world they soar,
She is left on the concrete floor.
She’s in the dark; they’re in the light,
In their flawless world filled with delight.
She gazes aloft; they’re so far away,
Everyone spreads their wings someday.
