We all have pain, and bear the shame,
Of the deepest things we feel.
Behind our masks,
There are scars that hurt,
And wounds that will never heal.
We all are screwed; the things we do:
Fake our stupid happy face,
We act so smart,
Or we play the fool;
It’s a shameful masquerade.
Hide broken hearts, we play the part
And continue in this game.
Can’t drop the mask,
We dare not escape,
From our painful masquerade.
