Daffodils

While I am sitting on an oak tree,
With thousands of yellow daffodils underneath me,
A light frosty cold breeze is blowing,
A now the daffodils are flowing.

From side to side as they sway,
The soft velvety petals fall away,
A young girl walks through the daffodils,
Picking up the petals in thrills.

As she walks and picks up more petals,
She turns around and settles,
While she sits the pile turns,
From a sunlight yellow to a sunset orange now she smiles,

She walks away with the pile of flowers,
And now over me the tall tree towers,
As I sit on the Oak tree,
With the thousands of yellow daffodils underneath me.
