People wear masks to hide what they feel
to hide who they love
to hide who they hate.
Masks are for protection
for hiding
for fighting
People wear masks to hide their pain,
to hide their sorrow,
to hide their terror.
Masks can be red
yellow
white
black
People can pull off masks and tell the truth
but most do not
I should know,
for I am one of them.
