Walk With Me

I remember when I was young,
I wandered from place to place,
Unaware of the troubles and monsters,
In which I would soon face.
I remember moments of happiness,
And times of being sad and alone,
But you, my dear were my comfort,
Your gentleness was my home.
I remember your welcoming spirit,
One that would ease any pain,
One that would bring joy during suffering,
In which many memories still remain.
Sometimes I would sit and ponder,
At what tomorrow will bring,
You taught me to treasure it all,
Each and every beautiful thing.
As I walk around,
Many things remind me of you,
Like the calmness of a free sky,
Forever and endless blue.
Your essence is cleansing,
Like a hot day washed by rain.
The way a mother looks at a child,
And her love is always the same.
I see you in the garden,
In the beauty of every leaf,
The serenity of each flower,
This place, like you holds no grief.
I feel you in the wind,
The fresh air swirling around,
The softness of the grass,
As I travel across the ground.
I see you when I sleep,
Together we walk my dreams,
Our memories are my present,
Reality is not as it seems.
Sometimes I look back on my past,
No good times shall ever part,
Even as time fades and goes on,
You will forever remain in my heart.
Although you're not always with me,
I know you're still here,
Through spirit mind or memories,
In my every doubt and fear.
I know we will be together someday,
Whether that day is near or far,
And it will be a time of no sorrow,
because Happiness is where we are.
