Now green, next gold,
Soon brown they fall,
Like gems the dew adorns them.
The colour of youth,
They wave in the breeze,
They wave to me ‘Good morning’.
As I walk in their midst,
They whisper their secrets,
The dappled shade beneath them.
The colour of life,
They dance in the breeze,
They dance with me this morning.
I sing and dance and play with them,
I watch and wait and stay with them,
They laugh the nights and days with me!
Enchanting leaves, this morning.
