2011
2nd in the 'Step Write Up 2011' competition
Flowing and growing; as does our fear,
Seeing our houses destroyed, we shed one more tear.
Memories destroyed, broken and lost,
Fixing this mess will be quite a cost.
Surging and swirling, our people are crying,
Hope is minimal, our people are dying.
No food no water, no warmth and no love,
Where were Noah, his boat and the dove?
No warnings were issued, it came in the night,
Crashing and ruining giving us a fright.
Mourning the dead, cursing the day,
Evacuated daily, they say we cant stay.
They are trying to help, we know this is true,
But who are we kidding, there is only so much they can do.
