1st in the 'Step Write Up 2011' competition
The rising hills of crystal blue
Topped with opaque white foam
Crashed on the sand
With an angry lion’s roar.
But out past the furious crashing waves
It is calm, serene.
And if you look into its watery depths
You are rewarded greatly.
Neon tipped coral carpets the sandy floor
Waving in the gentle current
Colourful fish flit to and fro
Through the rippling coral beds.
Now all that’s left to do
Is to fight the furious waves again.
