Without a sound,
The mourning battlefield lays still; ready to swallow up the soldiers,
Ready to pounce on the lifeless, blood-stained bodies,
Bullets raging through the chemical-filled air,
Torturous sounds from above,
With the brave men running almost cowardly,
Severed limbs were bestowed upon the men left behind,
With the unlucky ones receiving the unconceivable…
As all this madness occurs the battle goes on,
With no time for mourning or sorrow,
Not even a bellow from the mates of the dead,
Treacherous memories stowed in the minds of veterans,
Never to forget,
Without a sound,
They remember.
