Excellence Award in the 'Step Write Up 2011' competition
Skies become grey as though they feel blue,
Bleak long nights steal the daylight away,
The wind chanting curses all night through,
But wonderful, the way the bare branches sway,
Veiny green leaves bleed in to red,
A virus that comes three months a year,
Soon the alive will all be dead,
But blissful, sounds of leaves falling you hear,
Devours every step like it's having a feast,
Cascades of branches like blossoms of flame,
A vicious 'crunch' like an angered beast,
But beautiful, aren't you glad it came?
