Waking up to the crisp, cool, mountain air,
Dressed in a rush to keep as warm as possible
Walking through the hallways of the small country house to the frosty window.
See the fog covering the silver ground like a thick woollen blanket,
Squint your eyes to see the dark hills in the distance,
Outside the wind hits; bitter and blustery .
Your hair fills with the clinging moisture .
Your icy body slowly warms as you walk towards the wood fire,
You can smell the food roasting over the crackling flames,
Its aromas filling the air as you breathe deeply in,
The heat fills you as you eat the warm food,
Starting at the heart and gradually warming up your body, from the inside out.
Another winter day slowly drifts by,
As the sun slowly hides behind the tops of the Blue Mountains
