Old And Frail

It was on the side walk that I met her
Old and frail and shivering,
She said she’d lost her true love dear
Old and frail and shivering,
He left her many years ago, right there where I found her
Old and frail and shivering,
I took her hand as cold as ice
Old and frail and shivering,
And told her she shouldn’t dwell on the past
Old and frail and shivering,
I took her to my home in 6th street way
Old and frail and shivering,
I sat her by the fire
Old and frail and shivering,
Later she left her place by the fire
Old and frail and shivering,
Back to the sidewalk where he left her
Old and frail and shivering
But now she’s gone, no longer there
Old and frail and dead.
